Tobacco lobbying at the EU Commission and the Dalli controversy - Greens to outline call for new ethics and transparency rules
When: Wednesday, 9 January 2013, 10.30-11.00
Where: European Parliament Brussels, Room ASP 5G2
With: José Bové, Green MEP and vice-chair of the EP agriculture committee, and Bart Staes, Green MEP and vice-chair of the EP budgetary control committee
With continuing the controversy about the circumstances of former EU health commissioner Dalli's departure and new revelations about lobbying to the EU Commission (up to the highest level) in the context of the Tobacco Directive, the Greens will host a press conference to deal with these issues and the need to tighten rules on transparency and ethics, including the creation of a temporary committee in the European Parliament to this end.
The press conference will be streamed live online at: http://www.greenmediabox.eu/live/pressconference/
