Ideas Lab is the annual flagship event of CEPS, Europe's well-known independent think tank on European policy issues. It brings together Europe’s top decision-makers and thinkers to discuss the most pressing issues confronting the EU.
This year, it will be held from 21-22 February in Brussels and the slogan of the event is "Europe's Choice".
This fundamental issue will be addressed at the Opening Plenary of the CEPS 2019 Ideas Lab by the European Commission's First Vice-President Frans Timmermans, after a short introduction by Joaquin Almunia, CEPS Chairman, and Mugur Isărescu, Governor, of the National Bank of Romania.
The same theme will again be addressed in the second plenary on the second day of Ideas Lab by former Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, followed by a discussion with Andreja Metelko-Zgombić, State Secretary of Croatia, and Fredrik Reinfeldt, former Prime Minister of Sweden and CEPS Board Member.
Ahead of Ideas Lab, CEPS has assessed the Juncker Commission and recommends actions for its successor in: "What Comes After the Last Chance Commission: Policy Priorities for 2019-2014". CEPS will be presenting this publication during the Opening Plenary and to all participants.
