The Eurogroup is a meeting of the finance ministers of the eurozone, that is of those member states of the European Union which have adopted the euro as their official currency. The meetings are attended by the Eurogroup President, the Finance Minister of each Member State of the euro area, the Commissioner for economic and monetary affairs, and the President of the European Central Bank. The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee's Eurogroup Working Group also attends, to present the preparatory work done in that Group. Its current President is Jean-Claude Juncker.
The ministers meet a day before a meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN).
