11th European Innovation Summit
Section
Event Location
Event Description
Investing in research and innovation is investing in Europe’s future, in knowledge and new solutions to maintain and improve the European way of life. That is why the European Commission has set a new level of ambition to deepen Europe’s innovation capability, provide lasting prosperity and preserve our global competitiveness. Horizon Europe is the most ambitious research and innovation programme ever and will keep the EU at the forefront of global research and innovation.
Horizon Europe will support European Partnerships to deliver on global challenges and industrial modernisation through concerted R&I effort with the Member States, private sector, foundations and other stakeholders. For the K4I community and in particular those that are part of the planned European Partnerships, in the short term the further negotiations until the adoption and in the long-term the implementation of Horizon Europe, are of major concern. For this reason the topics covered by the 11 EIS Programme are closely linked to the work of the European Partnerships and Missions under the headings of ‘Digital Transformation’, ‘Greening’ and ‘Innovation’.
Participants will discuss remaining issues related to the shaping of the final set of European Partnerships, internationalization, the future of the EIT KICs including their role in strengthening innovation ecosystems. A press briefing with convincing messages « Why we need a substantial budget increase in Horizon Europe » is organized prior to the Opening Ceremony on 3 February at 18:00.
We invite all innovation stakeholders to contribute to the discussions about making Horizon Europe a success.
Note: The Program is under development and subject to change

An existing literature agrees that drug innovation has a significant average effect on extending longevity and improving quality of life. Recognizing the life-saving benefits from the development of new drugs, one of the key decisions faced by the authorities is how to bolster pharmaceutical innovation, and how to bear in mind the potential effects on drug innovation of policies that affect market size, such as policies towards intellectual property rights, procurement mechanisms and competition policy.
