Event Description
COGEN Europe is celebrating its 20th anniversary at next year’s Annual Conference on 18-19 April 2013 in Brussels.
Europe is a global leader in cogeneration and the conference is the biggest annual gathering of cogeneration stakeholders in Europe, traditionally attracting EU and national policymakers and industry representatives. It is an unique opportunity to get an update on the latest policy and market developments on cogeneration, to network with key stakeholders and to exchange views on energy efficiency.
The adoption of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and the role of cogeneration have been a significant theme of European energy policy discussions in 2012. COGEN Europe has throughout emphasised the opportunity of energy efficiency to reach strategic economic, climate and energy EU goals. Cogeneration is an energy efficiency industry and this conference will address the DG Enterprise’s “Europe 2020, the EU’s strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth” and will explore what this means for cogeneration.
The agenda of the Conference will address the following topics:
- Cogeneration in 2050 – policy and market outlook, cogeneration in Europe's economic aims
- Challenges for industry – what is hampering a further deployment of cogeneration in key industries
- New business opportunities offered by micro-CHP, fuel cells and bio-energy
- Cities and bio-energy cogeneration
