Event Description

The European Conservatives and Reformists Party brings this great opportunity for young people to talk about digital freedom with just a modest participation fee, ECR will cover the remaining full cost.

To bring politics closer to the people, ECR Party is putting in motion a new series of campuses for students all over Europe. For this edition, the chosen topic is ‘Digital Freedom’, and the location could not be other than Rome, the seed of our civilization. It is very symbolic, as the intention of this new campus is learning from the most talented speakers of the World, while discovering the different cities, nations, and cultures in Europe.

Gathering of students from several countries will allow a closer collaboration and networking between their Member Parties and their sympathizers, but keeping, respecting, and knowing better the diverse cultures and traditions of each one of them, as a reflection of their vision of Europe as a community of nations that freely choose to cooperate for common goals.

ECR Party is offering an experience of 4 “exciting days”, learning from top speakers coming from all over the world, including Big-Tech executives and noted academia professors. This will consist of lectures during Saturday and Sunday mornings, discovering the risks and opportunities that the digitalization brings, changes in legislation, freedom of speech regulations, cybersecurity, campaigning in social media, and much more; panels with important politicians, and workshops during the early afternoons, so the students will still have free time to discover one of the most beautiful cities in the World.

Some of the confirmed speakers are professionals with an extensive background on their fields, having Big-Tech executives like Martina Colasante, Google Public Affairs Manager; a Facebook executive to be announced; coming from the Academia Professor Hannes Gissurarson (University of Iceland) and Mr. Hocepied (EU commission expert and Namur University professor); intelligence and security experts Eman El Sheikh (Director of the Center for Cybersecurity in Florida) and Eyal Pinko (Retired Israel Navy Commander); or political advisors like Richard Murphy (Thatcher campaign manager).

Relevant conservatives’ political figures have already confirmed their participation in this event, including by now Giorgia Meloni (ECRP and Fratelli d’Italia President), Jorge Buxadé MEP (VOX Head of Delegation, Spain), Raz Granot (Chief Press Officer Likud, Israel), James Wharton (House of Lords, Conservative Party, UK).

The all-inclusive participation fee is 350 €, that will entirely cover flights, 3 nights of hotel, meals, a gala dinner, and all planned activities. The participants only need to buy a ticket in the platform Eventbrite, so the organization will arrange for them all the logistics.

This campus will coincide in time and place with a Christmas version of ‘Atreju’, the Italian traditional conservative event that Fratelli d’Italia organizes and will be celebrated during the entire week in Rome, as Giorgia Meloni announced.

Both events, counting with the presence of important national and international figures will make Rome to be during this December the European capital of Conservatism.
