Event Description
About the Electric Mobility Debate
Although still limited, the number of electric vehicles appearing on the streets of European cities is on the rise. The introduction of greener vehicles responds to urban concerns over environment and health, as they contribute to lowering air and noise pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.
Electric vehicles are generating increasing interest among decision-makers, manufacturers and consumers. Their development could bring economic benefit to the EU as many of the technologies that make cars greener are made in Europe. However, their development also faces several important challenges, notably when it comes to providing the necessary charging infrastructure and delivering technologies at competitive prices. How can we create a market for electric vehicles? How can the different public and private stakeholders work together to improve electric mobility, particularly in urban areas? What are the hurdles to overcome?
Join our online and live debate with Matthias Ruete, Director General of DG MOVE, and other leading stakeholders for a stimulating discussion on how electric mobility is transforming cities.http://electric-mobility-debate-2013.eu/
