Event Description
Objective
As from January 2019, the EU Regulations covering all civil-law aspects of matrimonial property regimes and the property consequences of registered partnerships will apply.
Knowledge about the applicable property regime is indispensable during marriage or partnership, in case of the couple’s separation, divorce, death of one of the spouses or when drafting a will.
The conference will give an overview on the different (matrimonial) property regimes within the EU and choice of law options in the context of:

EU Regulation 2016/1103 on matrimonial property regimes
EU Regulation 2016/1104 on property consequences of registered partnerships -
by way of presentations, different scenarios, case studies and an interactive workshop.
Furthermore, the conference will address case law and the most recent developments at EU level in the area of family law.
