Event Description
This year’s European Road Safety Day will be held on 6 May which is the first day of the UN Global Road Safety Week. To mark the occasion, the FIA and CLEPA invite the road safety community and the general public to join a walk for pedestrian safety (beginning at Schuman Roundabout and finishing at Parc Cinquantenaire), followed by a demonstration of life-saving vehicle safety technologies at Autoworld.
Long Short Walk for pedestrian safety to Parc Cinquantenaire (16:00 – 16:30)
The event will begin with a ‘Long Short Walk’ from Schuman Roundabout to the Parc Cinquantenaire. NGOs, associations, the transport stakeholder community, and the general public are warmly invited to join the walk and to show their support for pedestrian safety. The European Commissioner for Transport, Siim Kallas, has confirmed his participation. Participants should gather at 16:00 at Schumann Roundabout where there will be an opportunity for photos and interviews. To register your involvement, please do so here or on facebook.
eSafety Demonstrations at Parc Cinquantenaire (14:00 – 20:00)
Upon reaching the Parc Cinquantenaire, a demonstration of advanced road safety technologies will take place, organised by CLEPA and co-funded by eSafetyAware, in Autoworld. This is an opportunity to experience state-of-the-art safety technologies from the European automotive suppliers, getting at the same time first-hand knowledge from the experts.
