Event Description
The second edition of the European Defence Industry Summit will welcome industry professionals and policymakers to Brussels once again to discuss the future of European defence.
This edition is focused on three keywords: Cash, Capability and Cooperation.
- Cash: Money talks, and this year we are interested in what defence investments are crucial for the future of the defence industry.
- Capability: Following the model set by the Capability Development Plan, EDIS will explore the creative process behind the latest defence technology and innovation while at the same time, problematizing, how can SMEs break defence procurement barriers?
- Cooperation: European defence hinges on the ability for cooperation among EU and NATO members.
These three themes are just the beginning because it is the sharing of ideas and discussions that follow that are at the heart of EDIS' success.

An existing literature agrees that drug innovation has a significant average effect on extending longevity and improving quality of life. Recognizing the life-saving benefits from the development of new drugs, one of the key decisions faced by the authorities is how to bolster pharmaceutical innovation, and how to bear in mind the potential effects on drug innovation of policies that affect market size, such as policies towards intellectual property rights, procurement mechanisms and competition policy.
