How to Spend It: A Digital Investment Plan for Europe
Section
Event Description
The COVID-19 crisis has shown that digital technologies are essential to our economy and daily lives. Many in Europe made a major “digital leap” during this crisis, moving their work, schooling and social lives online. But the lockdowns also revealed the gaps in our digital infrastructure. We must ensure that people are not left behind.
In July 2020 European leaders struck a historic deal for €750bn to restart our continent’s economy, 20% of which must be invested in digital. This is an impressive statement of intent – Europe’s recovery will take us forward, not back.
But as member states put together their national plans, what are the digital investments that will drive our continent forward, accelerate our transition to climate neutrality, modernise our health systems, and give our citizens the tools and skills they need to thrive in the digital age?
On 21 October we invite you to join our distinguished speakers at a high-level summit to discuss these questions and more.
That day will also mark the publication of our Digital Investment Plan for Europe. It includes visionary cross-border digital project ideas, as well as concrete case studies from DIGITALEUROPE members showing how it can be done.
