Event Description
The European Banking Federation is hosting a press conference on the Financial Transaction Tax, on behalf of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA).
In light of the proposed Financial Transactions Tax (FTT), the European Repo Council (ERC) has commissioned Richard Comotto, a Senior Visiting Fellow at the ICMA Centre, University of Reading UK, and author of the ERC semi-annual repo survey, to produce a preliminary assessment of the impact of the FTT in its proposed form on the repo market and the likely consequences for other financial markets, the implementation of monetary policy and the real economy. The impact of the FTT has been assessed using data contributed by repo market users.
Godfried de Vidts, Chairman of the ERC, and Richard Comotto invite you to a press conference to present the findings of this paper.
The press conference will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 8 at the European Banking Federation, 56 Avenue des Arts, B-1000, Brussels.
Please confirm your attendance by email to: allan.malvar@icmagroup.org by tomorrow 12 noon at the latest.
