Event Description
Tracking the future of news
Why is smartphone use so high in Poland? How does traditional media keep its dominance in Austria? And which European country uses the most news apps? Join us for the launch of a new report that uncovers key trends, giving a unique and detailed insight into the state of digital news today.
Each year, the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) – part of the University of Oxford – tracks user trends in online news across 12 countries. This year we brought in six new European countries. Our findings are unparalleled in breadth and depth and we want to share them with you.
The future of journalism is already being defined by the digital age. Discover how it’s impacting your readers with insights into:
- How readers are using mobile data to access the news
- The growth of online news brands – and how they’re impacting traditional media outlets
- Who’s willing to pay for their news – and who isn’t
Countries covered by the Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2015 are: the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Brazil, Japan, Australia. Countries covered by our new supplementary report are: Austria, Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland and Turkey.
Event speakers include:
Nic Newman: Digital Media Strategist and Research Associate (RISJ), editor of the Reuters Institute Digital News Report.
Richard Fletcher: Research Fellow (RISJ), lead author of the Supplementary Digital News Report.
David Levy: Director (RISJ)
