Event Description

The EU ministers responsible for the single market, industry and research usually meet four times annually in the Competitiveness Council. The council is responsible for further developing the EU’s single market and ensuring the framework conditions for European industry and research. 2012 marks the 20 years anniversary of the launch of the Single Market and during the Danish Presidency the EU will negotiate a reform of the Single Market, which incorporates the latest digital development.

On the Council's website you can find information about each Council meeting, including background notes, agendas and links to webcasts. The pages are updated regularly.
