Panel Debate on Water Stewardship

Event Description
With growing pressures on water availability and quality, businesses need to achieve two things: (i) demonstrate they are responsible users of water, (ii) be protected from the risks of water scarcity and pollution. From a sustainable environment point of view, water is closely linked to climate and biodiversity concerns. Moreover, growing populations and increasing wealth are also putting growing demands on water quality and availability; industry needs to contribute to ensuring water is equitably shared between water users and the needs of the natural environment. These concerns are reflected in recent European initiatives such as the European Water Stewardship Standard (launched November 2011) and the Blueprint to Safeguard Europe’s Waters (November 2012). What are the next steps towards a water sustainable Europe?
Come and join us at this panel debate where representatives from the European Water Partnership (EWP), industry and policy will give keynote speeches which will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.
