Event Description
The event will be livestreamed here and on YouTube.
The EU-Ukraine Forum on countering disinformation is organised by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, in cooperation with BRAND UKRAINE NGO and powered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Join us on 6th December for a day-long event, with 3 panel discussions where several aspects of Russian disinformation will be analysed along with solutions and recommendation on how to combat it. Panellists will focus on strategies used by the Russian Federation to create fake narratives; genocide discourse in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories; how Russia created a false pretext for the war; best practices to combat disinformation proved to be useful in the Lublin Triangle; and key challenges in countering disinformation on social media. The forum will be a unique encounter between Ukrainian and EU experts and representatives, with the common aim to resist Russia’s false narrative and combat disinformation as a hybrid weapon.
