Next 17 February 2020 (2.00 pm to 5.30 pm local time) at the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel in Stockholm, in the frame of the 3^rd Global Ministerial Conference of Road Safety, CITA – in collaboration with Global NCAP, the Road Safety Facility of the World Bank and the Towards Zero Foundation – will host a debate titled “Road Map for Safer Vehicles 2030”.

The aim of the event is to evaluate the progresses in vehicle safety achieved during the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, and to elaborate a comprehensive road map for vehicle safety for 2030.

During the debate, we will assess implementation of the recommended activities of the vehicle pillar 3 of the Global Plan for the Decade, the WHO’s Save Lives Technical Package, and relevant recommendations of the UN General Assembly on vehicle safety.

About the the 3^rd Global Ministerial Conference of Road Safety

With the theme “Achieving Global Goals 2030“, the 3^rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety will take place in Stockholm, next 19–20 February 2020. The event is hosted by Sweden and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO). Minister-led delegations from more than 80 countries are expected to attend, and representatives from the world of industry and research, international institutions and organizations will also participate.

The Conference will be an opportunity for delegates to share successes and lessons from implementation of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011–2020, chart future strategic directions for global road safety up to 2030 and beyond, and define ways to accelerate action on proven strategies to save lives. The Conference will also provide an opportunity to link road safety to other sustainability challenges.
