The meeting “Transforming the face of head and neck cancer care in Europe: it is time to take action!” is going to be held in the European Parliament on 5th November from 15:00 – 16:30. The event is hosted by Italian MEP Patrizia Toia and it is organized by European Cancer Patient Coalition and European Head & Neck Society.
Head and neck cancer is a curable cancer, yet it continues to kill over half of all sufferers. There is an urgent need, not only to raise an awareness of the signs and symptoms, but also to educate the general public and healthcare providers on the importance of the prevention. The meeting will highlight the urgent need for better quality of care across all member states, based on newly published data from a pan-European research project, RARECAREnet.
We have also invited our member, a head and neck cancer survivor, who will share his personal experience with diagnosis, treatment and effect on daily life.
The conference "European innovation partnership on active and healthy ageing: from plan to action" will be opened by Neelie Kroes, the European Commissioner for digital agenda and John Dalli, the European Commissioner for health and consumer policy.
