Event Description
10:00 - 11:00 - EU regulatory landscape on transparency : business challenge or opportunity?
Being transparent is a way for companies to build trust with their stakeholders and is an important process in the journey towards increased sustainability. Increased pressure from consumers, NGOs and governments are pushing more and more companies to disclose information about the environmental and social impacts of their supply chains.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the EU Regulatory landscape related to Supply Chain Transparency and hear from experts on how this landscape is evolving. Our speakers will provide practical advice on how companies can be better equipped to comply with the regulations and benefit from increased transparency in the process.
11:15 - 12:15 - Hidden and Vulnerable: Promoting Decent Working Conditions for Home-Based Workers
In regions such as South Asia, home-based workers are a significant part of the workforce in labour-intensive sectors. They generally work in the informal sector and most are women. They represent one of the most vulnerable groups of workers in the supply chain.
This session will outline the specific challenges of suppliers who manage home-based workers. We will discuss how businesses can work with suppliers and civil society to help protect the rights of home-based workers. The sessions will include case studies from amfori members and partners.
