Resilience is of increasing importance in the power sector, for both networks and generation. The electricity industry has a key role to play by building, maintaining and continuing to enhance a secure and resilient infrastructure that can withstand increasingly severe and frequent weather events. Besides this, the digital dimension is also a point of increased interest with continuous cyber threats and the need for ever increasing safeguards on cyber security for all elements in the power sector value chain.
Eurelectric is organising a two-part webinar to look in more detail at these two important subjects. The first will be moderated by the
DSO-TSO Platform chairs Paddy Hayes, Managing Director of ESB Networks and the second by Michael Jesberger, COO of Transnet BW.
Part one on 9 September will
- explore concrete resilience issues of networks
- look at how system operators cope with more extreme weather events and their impact on power system planning and operations ensuring continued supply for customers
- discuss how the EU can respond to this challenge with regulatory measures
