Liberal Breakfast on the German elections
Section
Event Description
On 26 September, German citizens will voice how they want their country to move forward when they vote in the 2021 federal elections in Germany. These elections in Germany promise to be more than exciting and will have a big impact on the future of Germany but also on Europe. After almost 16 years, Angela Merkel will step down as Germany’s chancellor - but who will succeed her? What kind of coalition will take office? What will be the role of the German liberals in this and how will these results affect the European Union?
The event will examine the results of the election, the impact of campaigning during COVID-19, paying particular attention to how the German liberal party FDP performed and the potential alliances to be forged in a unique multiparty political landscape.
