Location: Council of the European Union, Luxembourg
The role of the Competitiveness Council is to ensure the enhancement of competitiveness and growth in Europe. The Council meets four times annually and deals with the fields of the internal single market, industry, space, research and innovation. The development of the single market is one of the main policy areas for the competitiveness council and the year of 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of its completion.
