Ukraine has once again been dominating headlines with the recent build-up and subsequent withdrawal of Russian troops and artillery at the country’s unstable Eastern border. However, the question of security is only one of the many issues facing Ukrainians. Political instability and sluggish economic growth have been accompanying the country in recent years.

The 17 of May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. On 11 March, The European Parliament passed a resolution, initiated by the Renew Group, declaring the entire EU to be an “LGBTIQ Freedom Zone” – a symbolic response to Poland’s “LGBT free-zones”.
