Event Description

Building on the success of the Central and Eastern European conferences held in Prague and Ljubljana, Eurogas will hold this 3rd edition in cooperation with its Slovak member SPP. This year’s conference will address the future energy market design and, more specifically, the question: “Can gas spur the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe?”.

The conference is hosted by Mr Klaus Schäfer, President of the Governing Board of Eurogas and CEO of UniperGermany and Mr Pierre Poncik, Vice-Chairman of SPP, Slovakia and member of the Board of Eurogas.

We are pleased to announce Commissioner for Climate Action & Energy Miguel Arias Cañete as a confirmed speaker.

Two expert panels will address the following questions:

  • Panel 1 – The role of gas in energy market design
  • Panel 2 – Practical examples of how gas is contributing to energy efficiency and decarbonisation

The conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, academia, energy customer representatives and business leaders to discuss the subject and to develop relevant ideas and strategies.

If you are interested in the role of gas in the energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe, join us for what will be an interesting and engaging debate.
