Consumer Engagement and Demand Side Response in the Internal Energy Market
On 16 June, Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič will deliver the keynote address at the CERRE Executive Seminar 'Consumer Engagement and Demand Side Response in the Internal Energy Market'.
In a vibrant Energy Union, citizens have a stake in the energy transition, they should play an active part in markets and vulnerable consumers should be protected. However, the reality of empowering domestic consumers to this degree is proving difficult.
At the same time, non-domestic and industrial consumers cite high energy costs as a significant challenge. While this sector has significant potential in developing demand side response, how can this be achieved while maintaining competitiveness?
With discussants include senior-level representatives from key policy, regulatory, corporate and consumer stakeholders involved, this CERRE Executive Seminar will focus among others on the crucial issues of consumer engagement – both domestic and business/industrial – and demand side response in the future Internal Energy Market.
