Event Description
Critical raw materials play an important role in innovation and are crucial for the economic strength and competitiveness of the European Union in a globalised economy. However, the European Union is becoming increasingly dependent on the import of these critical materials from third countries. Therefore, to elevate the issue of critical raw materials and the threats to continuous supply imposed by EU environmental and health legislation BeST is organising a political event in Brussels.
The conference will be hosted by Ms. Zofija Mazej-Kukovič, Member of the European Parliament and will consist of three high-level panels:
The Critical Raw Materials Strategy; to identify current issues with respect to mining and supply of raw materials and critical raw materials in particular.
Trade & TTIP; to emphasize the importance of critical materials for the competitiveness of Europe’s industrial sectors in a global market.
Health & Environment Legislation; to question the impact on EU competitiveness by the application of new health and environment legislation.
The third panel will be held at the large member’s salon where lunch will be served (vegetarian option available).
