Facing Europe's challenges
Date
Event Location
Event Description
With the next EU elections only one year away, ALDE Party and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom will host an event to take stock of the current situation for European liberals and how they plan to address key challenges in the upcoming months. The event will take place on 21 March at 19:30 CET at the ALDE Party Secretariat in Brussels, Belgium.
Europe is facing a multitude of serious challenges. From the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the fight against climate change, to the rise of anti-democratic populism and illiberal developments within our own borders and beyond.
Whether Europe succeeds in facing up to these challenges is of global significance. While the values of liberal democracy are under threat, the EU, as a unique area of peace, prosperity and common law, has a special responsibility to defend the model of liberal democracies.
Join us for a discussion and networking reception with our distinguished speakers: Karin Karlsbro MEP and Michael Link, Member of the German Parliament & Coordinator of Transatlantic Cooperation at the Federal Foreign Office. The discussion will be moderated by Svenja Hahn MEP, ALDE Party Vice-President.
