Event Description
A future for gas - Securing sustainable and competitive energy for Europe: Wednesday 27 June 2012 16:30 to 18:30, EP Room PHS 7C050
Secure, sustainable and competitive energy is of fundamental importance to the EU's economy, industry and citizens and an important element of the ALDE group's political priority "Green Economy". Among the different energy sources gas is gaining importance in the EU's energy portfolio, as gas-fired power plants combine flexible use with relatively low CO2 emissions. However, falling gas production in the EU and concerns over gas supply security call for new gas import pipelines and other infrastructures.
