Event Description
There is no doubt that the further growth of renewable energy in Europe is both feasible and necessary. However, what are the next steps that we need to take to develop the needed infrastructure in a wise and timely manner? Representatives of both the renewables and grid sectors will jointly address this question during our event “Grids meet Renewables.”
The conference will be divided into three main segments:
- Collaborative electricity infrastructure planning
- Developing infrastructure while addressing environmental and social challenges
- Operating the power system with higher shares of variable renewable energy
Alongside the conference, a Best Practice Fair will be organised. It will offer a great opportunity to exhibitors and participants to exchange and discuss best practices in grid and generation planning, infrastructure development and advanced system operation with high shares of variable renewables. Participants will have the opportunity to hear new ideas and successful concepts, take inspiration from industry leaders and learn from the experience of existing initiatives.
Several companies have already confirmed their participation in the Best Practice Fair. Features will include:
- 'Real time technology for the effective integration of distributed energy resources' by ALPIQ
- 'Innovative technique for the recovery of Posidonia Oceanica seagrass meadows' by REE
- 'Close and personal dialogue: development of a Mobile Citizen's Office for public participation' by 50Hertz
- 'Virtual Power Plant Next Pool' by Next Kraftwerke
- 'Promotion (Progress on Meshed HVDC Offshore Transmission Networks)' by Offshore Stiftung
- 'MIGRATE' by Tennet
