Event Description
The telecommunications market and consumer habits are changing rapidly. As for other sectors, internet-based innovation has brought new challenges for mobile operators. With the rapid move towards a service-centric digital ecosystem, mobile users are changing their preferences on mobility products and services as well as usage habits. Internet connectivity allows users to stream video, listen to music, call a cab, send messages, make phones calls and access other services directly via mobile apps. This set of internet-based mobile services, called OTTs, is increasing the demand for broadband access and the importance of mobile connectivity in our daily life. It is estimated that in few years’ time OTT companies will have captured 10% of global revenues from the telecommunications value chain. To what extent are OTTs revolutionising the mobile sector and changing consumer preferences? How is mobile sector responding to the fast-changing consumer behaviours and preferences? These are some of the questions we will address during the roundtable.
