Event Description
The Centre for European Studies (CES) cordially invites you to a Food for Thought event entitled ‘The Messages from Kiev’s Euromaidan for Brussels’
The brave and determined stance taken by the Ukrainians demonstrating in the streets of Kiev and across the country since November of last year in defence of their European choice, democracy and freedom, have gained respect and admiration across the world. The geopolitical interests of Europe notwithstanding, it was the courage, strong will and determination of the civic movement behind Euromaidan which made it impossible for the West to deny the political and economic support the Ukrainian people deserve to build a modern European state.
As Ukraine’s own future and the fate of democracy in Europe’s Eastern neighbourhood still hang in the balance, please join us at the CES to discuss the unfolding political developments in Kiev and listen to the messages for Europe from the civic leaders of Euromaidan and some of their steadfast supporters in Brussels. What should the EU do, and what can Ukrainians themselves achieve, in order to secure a better future for Ukraine?
