Event Description
We all know power technologies receive public money. But which technologies get how much, and why, has always been difficult to find out. Just how much do we know? What is the real impact of our choice of energy source on the taxpayer’s wallet? What can governments do to reduce such spending, or are we stuck?
In the context of the Europe’s Commission’s upcoming study, due in June 2014, EWEA is hosting a public debate on subsidies to the power sector with speakers from the OECD, the European Commission and the fossil fuel sector. The panel discussion will be followed by questions from the audience. The debate is free of charge and is also open to members of the press.

Date: Tuesday 29 April 2014
Time: 16:00-18:00 followed by a drinks reception
