Event Description
Following the success of the Early-Stage Researchers’ Forum at the last FTP conference, COST will organise an Early Stage Researchers' Forum at the 8th FTP conference entitled 'Inspiring Horizons – A new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for the Forest-based Sector' organised by the the Forest-based Technology Platform.
The COST FPS Domain in conjunction with the Forest-based Sector Technology Platform (FTP) as well as research organisations InnovaWood (wood technology), the Association of European Fibre and Paper Research Organisation (EFPRO) and the European Forest Institute (EFI) invite Young Researchers to present their research results as well as ongoing and planned research at the upcoming 8th FTP Conference.
Interested in presenting?
The joint COST-FTP Forum will give Young Researchers the opportunity to present results of their research work and to discuss these with colleagues from all across Europe and with industry representatives. Bringing together on the one hand young researchers and experienced researchers and on the other hand researchers and industry representatives, the Forum is an ideal opportunity to encourage networking of young researchers within the entire forest-based sector in Europe and abroad and additionally promote networking towards relevant industry and European and national bodies. Speakers at the COST Early-Stage Researchers Forum will be granted free access to the 8th FTP conference.
Are you interested in making yourself heard? Would you like to have the chance to speak at a panel session? If so, please check the FTP website for more information and the application procedure. The deadline is 10 January 2013.
A maximum of 20 proposals will be selected by 31 January 2013. The selected Proposers will be invited to present their ideas at the COST Early-Stage Researchers' Forum. This forum will be held on 11 March 2013 in the afternoon as well as the morning of 12 March 2013 before the conference.
The final presentations of the accepted proposals must not exceed 15 minutes. At the Forum a selection panel will award the two best presentations. Those awarded will be given the opportunity to present their research again at a panel session of the 8th FTP Conference on 13 March 2013.
The call is open to all kinds of ideas related to the forest-based sector. COST offers the reimbursement of travel and subsistence costs of selected applicants.
