Event Description
The Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament are organising a conference - 'Citizens' energy for a good climate. A participatory debate about Poland and its future' which will take place on 15 and 16 November 2013 in Warsaw in the framework of the UN climate discussions.
At this next COP, all eyes will be on Poland. Not only will Poland have the chance to lead the UN climate negotiations and play a key role on the international stage, it will also have an opportunity to weigh in on the debate about the economic future of the European Union itself.
It's crucial that the Paris summit scheduled for 2015 results in a fair and ambitious climate deal. We would therefore like to give the opportunity to key actors and stakeholders in Poland and Europe to engage in a fresh and frank debate about the economic, environmental, health and societal impacts of Poland's climate and energy policies.
Participants will come from all over Europe but a special position will be reserved for Polish citizens to lend their voice to the debate regarding the future of Poland. Given the limited time left to seal a deal on tackling climate change, we urgently need to discuss what role Poland and other world leaders should play in order to ensure success for future COPs. As Greens, we are determined to prove that the transition to sustainable and climate friendly economies and societies means everyone wins.

We sincerely look forward to meeting you in Warsaw in November.
Best regards,
Rebecca Harms,
Co-President of The Greens/EFA in the European Parliament
