On July 2, on the pretext of Edward Snowden being on board, Bolivian President Evo Morales' plane was prevented from crossing European airspace and had to make an emergency landing in Vienna, putting the President's life at risk.
Progressive and democratic sectors in Europe reject these decisions by governments who violate international law at the request of, and under pressure from, the US.
The European United Left / Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) is honoured to welcome Mr Juan Ramon Quintana, Minister of the Presidency of Bolivia. In this press conference in Brussels, Minister Quintana and GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer will give their analysis of recent events, the proposed responses from Bolivia, the other countries of the region, and social movements, and possible consequences for EU-Latin America relations.
