Course description
Learn how the European Commission – DG REGIO, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) finance and appraise investments that contribute to climate action and environmental sustainability.

- Methods to assess the economic viability and the socio-economic costs and benefits of a wide range of green investment projects
- Available EU funding for the Green Deal investment projects
- How to adjust the project quality and make it desirable for the EU co-financing
Course methodology/highlights:
We have made this course very practical and interactive. All presentations include concrete examples and are followed by highly practical workshops in small working groups with EIB experts. You will not only learn about changes in the 2021-2027 programming period, but you will go back to your workplace with a bunch of concrete ideas, actions to be taken and implemented in the near future.
How will it help you?
By the end of this course, you will:
- Acquire deep knowledge of the methods to assess the economic viability and the socio-economic costs and benefits of a wide range of green investment projects funded within the framework of the European Green Deal in different sectors including energy, circular economy and mobility.
- Take part in workshops that will allow you to practice how to assess the viability of projects, how to adjust the project quality and make it desirable for the EU co-financing
Participants will have access to a moodle platform which will contain online materials and documentation regarding the Green Deal
Target group
- Managing Authorities, Audit Authorities, Potential beneficiaries of Green Deal funding
- Economic and social partners, including: Universities, NGOs, regional or thematic associations involved in Green Deal Funding
- Consulting companies who provide support to national authorities
- All stakeholders interested in EU environmental policy and initiatives against climate change and who wish to get a comprehensive understanding of the Green Deal, its funding and the latest development linked to it.

Fee
The fee includes documentation and refreshments. Lunches, a reception or dinner are included if mentioned in the programme. Accommodation and travel costs are at the expense of the participants or their administration.
EIPA member fee
EIPA offers a discount to all civil servants working for one of EIPA’s supporting countries, and civil servants working for an EU institution, body or agency.
Who are the supporting countries?
Civil servants coming from the following EIPA supporting countries are entitled to get the reduced fee: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden.
For all other participants, the regular fee applies.
Early bird discount
The early bird discount is not cumulative with other discounts or promo codes, except for the EIPA member fee.
Confirmation
Confirmation of registration will be forwarded to participants on receipt of the completed online registration form.
Payment
Prior payment is a condition for participation.
Cancellation policy
For administrative reasons you will be charged €150 for cancellations received within 15 days before the activity begins. There is no charge for qualified substitute participants. EIPA reserves the right to cancel the activity up to 2 weeks before the starting date. In that case, registration fees received will be fully reimbursed. EIPA accepts no responsibility for any costs incurred (travel, accommodation, etc.).
