GERMAN DESCRIPTION BELOW
Debate with trade unionists, local politicians and climate activists on the concept of "Just Transition" and the challenge of structural change after a phase-out of fossil fuels.
The EU needs to embark on an agenda of transformational change, one that puts the health and interests of the people and planet first, guided by the Paris climate deal. Low-carbon industry is an opportunity for a sustainable prosperity, industrial regions in the EU need to draw up long-term strategies for reducing emissions, with close involvement of trade unions and employers.

Cornelia Ernst (MEP), Martin Schirdewan (RLS Brüssel), Maxime Benatouil(Transform), Montserrat Mir Roca (Europäischer Gewerkschaftsbund, angefragt), Frank Bsirske (ver.di, angefragt), Torsten Pötzsch (Oberbürgermeister Weißwasser, Lausitz, Deutschland), Molly Walsh (Friends of the Earth Europe, Brüssel), Marcin Bania (Zabrze, Polen, angefragt), Jose Luis Villares (Gewerkschaft CCOO, Spanien), Corinne Morelle-Darleux (Landrätin, Frankreich, angefragt), Chas Booth (Stadtrat Edinburgh, Schottland, angefragt), Eva Bulling-Schröter (MdB, angefragt), Jana Pinka (MdL, Sachsen, Deutschland), Thomas Domres (MdL, Brandenburg, Deutschland), Claude Turmes (MEP, Fraktion Die Grünen, angefragt), Maité Llanos(Trade Unions for Energy Democracy, Genf), Walter Wendt-Kleinberg (Ruhrgebiet, Deutschland).
