What is this course about?
Participants will gain practical understanding of the legal system of the EU and the most important principles governing the adoption and enforcement of the European Union law. In addition, participants will become familiar with different ways of challenging breaches of EU law before the Court of Justice of the EU and the consequences for Member States and EU Institutions. Finally the course offers a practical understanding of EU policy making and its effect on national administrations of the Member States.
How will it help you?
- It will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of the fundamental concepts of EU law and EU law-making process and to deepen their understanding of their role in this process and of the obligations imposed by EU law to which they are subject.
- It will offer a practical overview of the implementation of EU law at both the EU and national levels, including delegated and implementing acts and implementation committees.
- It will allow participants to gain practical understanding of the comitology process after Lisbon.
- It will help for the understanding of the relevance and impact of EU legislation on their daily work and the mechanisms of its correct implementation into national systems.
- It will provide a platform for the exchange of experience, information sharing and professional networking.

Officials in the national administrations and EU institutions and other bodies, whose work is affected – directly or indirectly – by European Union legislation, e.g. by participation in EU law-making, law approximation or application of national laws derived from EU law.
