Event Description
Webinar series: policy debates during the pandemic
The webinar series Gastein goes online: Policy debates during the pandemic will keep the Gastein-conversation going during the COVID-19 crisis and address burning questions from the viewpoints of the EHFG’s four pillars, the public and private sector, civil society and science & academia.
We invite you to join us for the first webinar in the series, which will centre on the perspectives of policymakers, scientists, international agencies and knowledge brokers under the headline Does speed trump perfection? Evidence for policy and practice – informing the COVID-19 response. It will take place on 30 June at 11:00 am – 12:00 am CET.
In a fast-moving pandemic like COVID-19, where delaying interventions may result in many lives lost, what are the evidence needs of policymakers and how do we balance the need for speed and rigour? In this webinar, the following experts will discuss how we can address uncertainty and promote best practice in times of crisis.
- Liisa-Maria Voipio Pulkki, Director General and CMO, Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Finland
- Andrea Ammon, Director, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control
- Dorit Nitzan, Regional Emergency Director, World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe
- Josep Figueras, Director, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
- Trish Greenhalgh, Professor of Primary Care, University of Oxford
- Moderated by: Nick Fahy, Senior Researcher, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford
Join us and register now for the first webinar in our series!
We look forward to receiving your input: Submit your questions for the panel during the webinar using the Q&A function or e-mail us at info@ehfg.org before the event.
