What is the Future of the European AI Act?
Section
Event Description
The event will be livestreamed here and on YouTube.
Nearly one year has passed since the European Commission unveiled its highly anticipated proposal for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) framework. The AI Act offers a regulatory model for limiting the potentially risky application of AI and providing democratic oversight on the rollout of advanced technologies.
In recent months, there has been much progress by the European co-legislators in improving the text and working towards its final version. This Martens Centre event will present the most relevant developments within the European Parliament and offer insights on how the proposal is shaping up. What should be within the final scope of the AI Act? Does this framework strike the right balance between consumer protection and ensuring rapid uptake of novel technologies within the European internal market? How should we design the final institutional structure that monitors and navigates the rollout of AI applications across the EU?
Join our high-level panel of politicians and experts who will walk us through all of the latest developments.
