Event Description

MEDIA INVITATION: The Way Forward for Better Regulation

WHAT

Media are invited to register for a high-level event to hear discussions between industry and policymakers on the challenges and way forward for Better Regulation - the European Commission’s comprehensive package of reforms aiming to boost transparency, improve the quality of new laws, and promote review of existing EU laws, so policies achieve their objectives in the most effective way. At this event, learn more about the impact on industry and our vision for a better regulated Europe.

Chemicals Regulation in the EU: Let’s Make it Better!

Clear, consistent and predictable regulation works hand in hand with strong industry compliance as essential building blocks to Europe’s long-term growth and competitiveness. Cefic – the European chemical industry council - agrees that it is not the quantity of legal acts that matters but rather the quality of the overall framework. Better regulation means better standards and greater legal certainty to strongly support innovation and competitiveness.

On the agenda:
Better Regulation: Towards growth and innovation?
The challenges of implementing EU law: Chemical industry experience
The way forward: Proposals from the chemical industry
REFIT: Towards a reduction of the regulatory burden for chemical companies?
