Event Description
FOLLOWING a disturbing and deadly wave of recent terrorist attacks in Finland, France, Spain, Sweden and the UK, the Counter Extremism Project (CEP) invites you to join the Building Alliances - Preventing Terror conference, the foremost platform in Europe to discuss terrorism, terrorist financing and communications, and extremist ideologies.
The unique two-day forum will bring together senior policymakers and officials, as well as academics, industry representatives and advocates, to share ideas for tackling the spread of extremism and terrorist propaganda in Europe and online.
Ten moderated sessions will spark debate on topics, such as:
- The role of internet companies in blocking the malicious use of their online services.
- Increasing co-operation to better prevent terrorist attacks.
- Disrupting terrorist finance networks.
- Improving local community engagement to counter youth radicalisation.
Featured speakers: Sir Julian King, European Commissioner for the Security Union; Anna Fotyga, Chair of the European Parliament's Security and Defence Committee; Radek Sikorski, former Polish Foreign Minister; Dr. Hany Farid from Dartmouth College; and Sir John Jenkins, Executive Director at International Institute for Strategic Studies.
