Event Description
Eurofound publishes its 3rd European Quality of Life Survey (3EQLS) ‘Impacts of the crisis on Europe's citizens: Trends in quality of life’ on Thursday 29 November 2012:
Declines of quality of life in all EU Member States, alarming levels in some, survey says
(Dublin, Ireland) Declines of over 20% in levels of optimism and happiness are reported in some countries across the EU and over a third of people indicate a deterioration in their financial situation over the past five years. These results, from Eurofound's 3rd European Quality of Life Survey (3EQLS), largely reflect - with some interesting exceptions - the economic reality, with highest optimism levels reported in Denmark, Sweden and lowest levels in Greece, Italy, and Portugal.
The social situation in the European Union today represents a complex and complicated story, and the European Quality of Life Survey offers an analysis of the multidimensional nature of quality of life. The launch of the 3rd European Quality of Life Survey (3EQLS) takes place at Hotel Silken, 11-19 Boulevard Charlemagne, B-1000 Brussels, Belgium on Thursday 29 November 2012.
The event is open to journalists, full details of the launch programme are available at http://www.eurofound.europa.eu/events/2012/eqlslaunch/index.htm
A press briefing is scheduled at the launch event venue for 11:00, involving:
- Juan Menéndez-Valdés, Director, Eurofound
- Robert Anderson, Head of Unit, Living Conditions and Quality of Life, Eurofound
- Tadas Leoncikas, Research Manager, Living Conditions and Quality of Life, Eurofound
