Conference "Connected Minds, Caring Workplaces: Addressing Mental Health in the Digital Era"
Location: European Parliament,Spinelli 3G3, Brussels
Date:December 12th, 2 pm – 4.00 pm
Edenred is pleased to announce the organisation of a conference dedicated to "Connected Minds, Caring Workplaces: Addressing Mental Health in the Digital Era" hosted by MEP Estelle Ceulemans at the European Parliament in Brussels on December 12, 2024.
The digitalisation of work has brought about significant changes in the workplace while impacting employee mental health. With the rise of remote work and the use of digital tools, employees are facing new challenges such as digital fatigue, blurred boundaries between work and personal life, and the pressure of constant connectivity. While digital technology can support mental health through accessible wellness programs and resources, it also increases the risk of burnout and stress-related conditions.
Edenred, as an official partner of the EU-OSHA campaign “Safe and healthy work in the digital age”, is eager to raise awareness on the challenges raised by the use of digital tools at work. The conference will gather delegates from public authorities, trade unions and employers organisations to explore together the future of work and possible solutions to face its digitalisation.
The conference will be organised around 2 panels.
The first panel will be moderated by Brenda O’Brien, Senior Brussels Liaison Manager of EU-OSHA, and will explore how to shape caring workplaces in Europe in the digital age. Manal Azzi, Team Lead on Occupational Safety and Health at the International Labour Organisation, Ignacio Doreste Hernandez, Senior Advisor at ETUC and Claudia Marinetti, Director of Mental Health Europe (tbc), will provide insights on the emerging needs for employees at the workplace and why it is crucial to address them.
The second panel will be moderated by Amal Chevreau, Acting Head of Unit of the Social Economy and Innovation Unit at the OECD, and will focus on the “business case” for investing in employee well-being in the digital age. Nayla Glaise, President of Eurocadres, Dr Ivan Kokalov, Member of the European Economic and Social Committee (tbc) and Isaline Ossieur, Adviser in the Social Affairs department of BusinessEurope, will present solutions and actions taken to reinforce well-being of employees and discuss how to disseminate such good practices in the field.
Join the debate and support the crucial necessity to promote mental health as a fundamental human concern which must remain at the forefront of the European Institutions’ agenda in the forthcoming years.
