Event Description
This two-day course offers participants an intensive practical introduction to impact assessment in EU decision-making. It explains why impact assessment has become an increasingly important part of the policy-making and legislative processes in the EU. It discusses the key analytical steps followed by the European Commission in preparing an impact assessment, as well as the main quantitative and qualitative techniques and tools available. Finally, it offers a forum for considering the opportunities for stakeholder and Member State input into the preparation of the European Commission impact assessment, as well as the inter-institutional dimensions and challenges.
