The Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in cooperation with the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels are pleased to invite you to a discussion on the state of implementation of reforms in Ukraine in visa liberalisation and migration policy areas.
EU Visa Liberalisation. Testing Ukraine’s Migration Policy.
The discussion will build upon the findings of a research paper “Reforming Ukrainian Visa Liberalisation and Migration Policy: Paving the Way for EU-Ukraine Cooperation” which tracks the record of reform in these sectors and shows how positive changes can offer opportunities for Ukraine, but also contribute to the EU-Ukraine cooperation in the migration area. In particular, the discussion will focus on the following questions:
- The level of preparedness in Ukraine for the visa liberalisation
- Potential migratory and security risks for the Schengen area
- The social reactions in EU member states to the visa exemption
