Event Description
WHAT
The European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) will host a half-day conference in Brussels to present the main findings of the new report entitled “Connecting the Sun”. This report analyses future scenarios looking at how Europe’s electricity grid can integrate solar photovoltaics - which, under certain conditions, could cover up to 25% of EU’s electricity demands by 2030. Policy recommendations are also part of the report to be presented on 17 October. EPIA’s study was conducted in consultation with external analysts and experts from system operators from around Europe.
WHEN
Wednesday 17th October, 9:00 – 14:00.
WHERE
Solvay Library, Brussels.
WHO
- Mr. Neoklis Sylikiotis, Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (closing statement).
- Mr. Simon Müller, Analyst, Renewable Energy Division, International Energy Agency.
- Mr. Per-Olof Grandström, Secretary General, EDSO for Smart Grids.
- Representatives from the European Commission and European Parliament.
- Experts from the electricity industry and network operators.
- More speakers will be announced soon
WHY
