MEP Stelios Kympouropoulos (EPP, Greece) in collaboration with EUCOPE and Novartis organises an exclusive in-person expert briefing session on the importance of early screenings and unmet medical needs.
The session will take place on 20 March from 9:30 until 11:00 CET, at the European Parliament (room A5E3).
Exert briefing session titled “Navigating Diagnostics Through the Lens of the Pharmaceutical Package and Beyond” will delve into the transformative potential of screening in addressing unmet medical needs through the ongoing revision of the General Pharmaceutical legislation.
This session, aligned with the objectives of the Belgian Presidency, aims to underscore the pivotal role of screenings in early disease detection and treatment, particularly in the realm of rare diseases. Esteemed speakers will highlight the effectiveness of newborn screening in identifying rare conditions and underscore the importance of early detection in enhancing health outcomes for individuals affected by rare diseases. Furthermore, the session will explore the prospects presented by the potential implementation of an EU Action Plan on rare diseases, offering valuable insights and fostering discussion on the road ahead.
