Event Description
On the occasion of Valentine's Day 2024, the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual & Reproductive Rights (EPF) is delighted to invite you to the launch of the 7th edition of the EPF Contraception Policy Atlas Europe. The hybrid event is hosted by EPF and MEP Karen Melchior (Renew, DK).
This year’s Atlas has been designed by a group of experts in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) including medical doctors, academics, youth representatives and politicians with many years of experience and drawn from both Eastern and Western Europe. Overall, it aims to track government policies on access to contraceptive supplies, family planning counselling and the provision of online information on contraception.
During the event, you will be able to learn how national governments score in terms of access to supplies, counselling, and online information and see how this score can be improved. The event will serve as an opportunity to meet and interact with Members of the European Parliament, civil society advocates and UN agencies working to advance access to contraception in Europe.
Day and Time: 14th February – 11:00 – 13:00 CET
Location: European Parliament (room PHS 7C50) and online
SPEAKERS
This hybrid event, hosted by MEP Karen Melchior (Renew, DK), will feature the participation of Neil Datta, Executive Director (EPF); HE Martine Deprez (Minister of Health and Social Security, Luxembourg); MEP Robert Biedron (S&D, PL); Cristina Puig Borras (European Consortium for Emergency Contraception) and Antonina Lewandowska (National Advocacy and ASTRA Network Coordinator).
The event will be available online. However, in order to process and grant access to the European Parliament for the in-person attendees the organisers will require some personal details to be shared with the EP service.
