Democracy vs autocracy and the great-power showdown

Event Description
About the online session:
The Martens Centre invites you to attend the first-ever public session of the 11th Transatlantic Think Tank Conference (TTTC), co-organised by the Hudson Institute.
The transatlantic relationship remains one of the cornerstones of the European People’s Party – and the Martens Centre’s – approach to tackling the most pressing global issues, particularly in these extraordinarily challenging times. Building on the success of past TTTC conferences, which have alternated between Europe and Washington DC, we are proud to once again bring together (digitally) North American and European politicians, think tankers and experts.
What can Europe and the US do to boost the resilience of their own political systems and those of their partners in an increasingly volatile world? Should they form an alliance of democracies to help each other—and their allies—to withstand increasing autocratic and corrupting pressure from countries like Russia and China? Join us for this public session which will debate the many implications of “Democracy vs autocracy and the great-power showdown”.
